Hydration & Moisture

The skin needs both water and oil. These are often referred to as hydration and moisture. Hydration refers to bringing water to the skin and moisturization refers to adding oil to the skin.

Hydration and/or moisture are added to the skin with toners, serums and creams.

All skin types benefit from hydration, but some people’s skin is especially dehydrated on the surface, meaning the skin lacks a lot of water. The Watermelon Dew line is especially helpful for surface dehydration.

Typically, dry skin doesn't produce enough oil on its own, so oil-based moisture is needed. We recommend our Peach Barrier line for dry skin.

If your skin is oily, you may not need oil-based moisture, as your skin naturally produces enough oil. This doesn't mean you should skip toners and creams – just opt for a more lightweight formula.
