In its pure form, Vitamin C is notorious for causing skin irritation and being unstable, meaning it loses its effectiveness quickly after being opened.

Encapsulation is a stabilization technique that keeps that Vitamin C working hard for your skin, day after day. Along with added brightness and radiance, the two types of encapsulated Vitamin C help boost collagen production.

Derivatives help you get a better effect with a smaller concentration

The serum contains 0.1% of a vitamin C derivative called 3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid, which is typically used at concentrations between 0.1–2%. This is a good level for gentle daily use to help brighten the skin and provide antioxidant protection. Pure vitamin C often needs to be used at higher concentrations (1–15%) to achieve similar results. In addition, the product contains a small amount of another vitamin C derivative, as well as brightening Glutathione and Niacinamide.
