Nowadays, it's hard to scroll your feeds without seeing skincare routines with over 10 steps and your favorite influencers' skincare collections with tens (even hundreds!) of different products. However, skincare doesn't have to be that complicated or expensive. That's why we've made it simple for you – here are the 3 most essential skincare steps you shouldn't skip!

1. Cleanser
What happens if you don't cleanse your skin?
If you don't cleanse your face in the evening, you can get blemishes, irritation and uneven skin from excess oil and debris. Your other skincare also cannot get to your skin if it has not been cleansed first.
Should you cleanse once or twice a day?
You should be cleansing your face at least once a day in the evening, and optionally in the morning. Morning cleansing can be beneficial to combination or oily skin types.

2. Moisturizer
Every skin type needs it – even oily skin!
After removing the oil from your skin, your skin barrier will be weaker. That’s why it's important to reinforce that skin barrier so that hydration can stay in, and irritants out. Every skin type needs to moisturize, even oily skin. Just find a texture that suits you, whether that is a fresher gel or a heavier cream.
Moisturizer will also make your makeup sit nicer on the skin and make your skin look more plump and healthy.

3. Sunscreen
Sunscreen is one of the most important skincare steps, as it protects your skin from UV damage. UV rays from the Sun can cause sunburn, skin damage, uneven skin tone and texture, as well as premature aging. It's important to wear sunscreen – especially when the UV index is 3 or above.

Make your morning routine quicker
Sunscreen can also replace your morning moisturizer, as sunscreens have very similar ingredients to moisturizers. This can save you some time in the morning as well as make your night time moisturizer last longer.
